This is a second release of pmon-sdram modified to work on VR3 with 8 MB or 16 MB RAM. --- Preface: use this PMON only at your own risk. I am *not* responsible for any damage you may cause by using this PMON and/or reading this document. When it suggests that you MUST upgrade, it's still your option and your choice. --- md5sum: dfaa75030597c0ade0dddec54829ec52 pmon-sdram-16M.binary --- detection: If it says when booting: ! Release 2 by , detects 7M RAM :) ! then it is pmon-sdram-16M from this package. --- About: This release is based on binary of pmon-sdram 3.3.0, e.g. pmon which blinks on boot, and uses compressed kernel. For informations about new releases for 16meg VR3s you should check http://www.terminus.sk/~www/agenda/ or http://agenda-snow.sourceforge.net/pmon/binary/ --- Upgrade note: * 8 MB users who use pmon-presdram-3.3.0 (i.e. it blinks on boot, and trying 'unzip' in pmon prompt says 'command not found') SHOULDN'T upgrade. If they will, they must change kernel when upgrading, and will lose about 2.5 megabytes of memory. * 8 MB users who use pmon-3.3.0 (i.e. it blinks on boot, 'unzip' works in pmon prompt and the prompt says 'PMON> ') SHOULD upgrade, but it isn't required. It's a good idea to be prepared for 16meg memory upgrade. * 8 MB users who use modified pmon-3.3.0, release 1 (i.e. it shows 'PMram>' prompt) MUST upgrade, because PMram version won't be supported by vrflash. * 16 MB users MUST upgrade, because this is currently (2002/10/02) the official 16-meg kernel. --- Milan Pikula , 2002/10/02
